Hartzler Supports Bi-Partisan Humanitarian Relief Funding Bill
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-04) made the following statement after House passage of H.R. 3401 which provides much needed funding to address the humanitarian crisis on the southern border. The measure passed 305 - 102 with Hartzler’s support.
“Today’s passage of this much needed emergency aid bill provides $4.5 billion in funds for the border, including $3 billion in much needed humanitarian aid. It ensures our men and women working tirelessly in border control and security get paid – something that was not guaranteed as existing funds dissipated – while continuing to fund efforts to combat the human trafficking and drug smuggling epidemics at the border. A lapse in funding would have seriously damaged these efforts.
“House passage of the Senate bill came only after House Democrats were unable to advance their bill which failed to fund many of these important provisions. Thankfully we were able to come together and support a Senate bill that represents the best interests of the American people.”
