Hartzler Supports Israel and House Resolution Censuring Anti-Semitic Members
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) joined a House resolution to censure Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) for misleading, offensive, and patently false comments regarding Israel and Hamas.
“Anti-Semitism has no place in the halls of Congress — or America,” Hartzler said. “Over the past few months, our nation has experienced a disgraceful rise in the prevalence of attacks on our Jewish brothers and sisters. A contributing factor in these tragedies has been the rhetoric espoused by members of the 'Squad' such as comparing Israel to the terrorist group, Hamas. Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar went even further, equating the actions of the United States to the Taliban, who have murdered our nation’s service members.
Words matter. These comments have further fanned the flames of hate and must be condemned. As such, I wholeheartedly support this House resolution and call for these members to be censured.”
