Good Day,

As 2014 draws to a close, Team Hartzler is saying “farewell” and “good luck” to a dear friend who has been an integral part of our operation since we began in January of 2011. As the MO-4 Special Events Coordinator, Donna Spickert coordinated many of our annual events, including the Missouri Business Conference in Warrensburg, the Veterans Summit in Warrensburg, the Lebanon Job Fair, and the annual process by which students are nominated for the U.S. Service Academies. Donna’s public service began in 1989, working for such notables as Senator John Ashcroft, Senator Jim Talent, and Congressman Kenny Hulshof. I have known Donna since my days as a State Representative in Jefferson City in the 1990s and have thoroughly enjoyed having her as part of our team for the last four years. Donna and Terry are looking forward to enjoying their retirement, hopping into the car and visiting their grandchildren when the travel bug strikes.

Best wishes, Donna. I thank you for all your hard work and wish you and Terry a very lengthy, fruitful, and active retirement.

This is Christmas week when Christians throughout our country and around the world celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a time that gives us hope and fills our hearts with joy.

Luke’s account of how the birth of Christ was announced to shepherds in the field that special night sums up the good news we celebrate:

As we gather with our families and pray for our men and women in uniform both at home and abroad, we are reminded that the light Jesus brought to the world is needed now more than ever. My wish this Christmas is that this light shines upon you and our brave troops around the world, bringing you comfort and peace while bringing them home quickly and safely.

From my family to yours, we wish you the merriest of Christmases. God bless.

Have a blessed Christmas with friends and family,

Vicky
