Local artist's work to be displayed in Congresswoman's office
Visitors to the Harrisonville office of Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler will have the opportunity to view a work of art painted by Garden City artist Marlynne Snare. The painting, honoring Cass County’s 150thanniversary, includes a building or site from each of 23 towns – all merged together on canvas.
“Marlynne is a very talented artist and a friend,” said Hartzler. “For years I have enjoyed her paintings depicting life in this part of our state. I am thrilled that she is willing to share this beautiful work of art with us.”
“Marlynne describes the blending together of locations from throughout the county as ‘one happy village community,’ and that is exactly what it is,” added Hartzler. “I hope citizens of Cass County and other parts of the 4thDistrict will take the time to visit our office in Harrisonville to see this superb portrayal of our county.”
The painting is on display in the Congresswoman’s office at 1909 North Commercial Street in Harrisonville. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the office to view the painting and are always welcome to come in to discuss any issues which might be of concern.
Vicky Hartzler was elected to Congress on November 2, 2010. She and her husband, Lowell, are small business owners with three farm equipment stores in the 4thCongressional District.
